| The
Chignik Bay Tribal Council received a Cultural Grant in
2002 through Bristol Bay Native Association from the
Alaska Federation of Natives. This grant made it
possible to hire Sally Yagie from Perryville to instruct
the children on how to perform original Alutiiq dances.
The grant also helped in purchasing supplies and
material to make Alutiiq costumes.
It is our hope that
eventually we will be able to send our dancers to
perform at an AFN convention in Anchorage.
Contributions are
needed and appreciated to keep this program active.
